The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of social support in improving the health of patients with ischemic heart disease. Materials and Methods:The present study was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population included all patients over 30 years old who referred to health centers of Birjand city in 2016and were diagnosed with ischemic heart disease by a trusted doctor. Out of this statistical population, 310 people were selected by available sampling method. The research tools used in this research included the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and the Psychosocial Adjustment to Illness Scale. Data were analyzed by SPSS22and simple linear regression test. Results: The results of the research showed that there is a significant relationship between some of the components of perceived social support (family, friends, and other important persons) with the total score of psychosocial adjustment with the disease (P< 0.05). Conclusion:The subscales of perceived social supportcan predict psychosocial adjustment of patients with ischemic heart disease. M3 10.30699/acadpub.ijhehp.6.3.277 ER -
