Abstract:   (284 Views)
According to the Ottawa Charter (1986), health promotion is a process that enables people to take control of their health and improve it. In many developed countries, the “health promotion approach” is considered as the governing approach in their health system governance. Taking into account their experiences, it can be inferred that as long as the governing approach to Iran's health system is the “biomedical approach”, the implementation of programs such as the “Family physician plan”, the “Health system reforms”, and the “IRAPENI” can only play a sedative role in overcoming the challenges of Iran's health care system. Therefore, the solution to overcome the challenges of this system seems to be the governance of the “Health promotion approach” in the health system. The results of a futures study conducted by the authors of current paper during the years 2019 to 2023 entitled "Futures study on the governance of “Health promotion approach” in Iran's health system" in the field of health education and promotion revealed three favorable, unfavorable and static scenarios in the Iran's health system governance by the year 2034. In this article, the description of the favorable scenario is presented, and based on that, a set of strategies are proposed at the end of the article. These scientific and evidence-based strategies may be helpful for the Iranian health policy makers and stakeholders in realizing the favorable scenario of the “governance of health promotion approach” within Iran's health care system.
