Abstract:   (146 Views)
Background and Objectives: Iran is one of the countries with high prevalence of stomach neoplasms. The main goal of the current research is to determine the educational intervention effect based on health belief model on preventive nutritional behaviors of stomach neoplasm among employees of Meshginshar city in 2022.

Materials and Methods: The present study is a semi-experimental interventional study with a control group. The statistical population is all the employees of the Meshginshahr city. Using simple random method, 5 offices were selected as samples and then 90 employees of these offices were selected as samples and were placed in two groups of 45 people, control and experimental. The experimental group was exposed to five experimental intervention sessions. The data gathered through health belief model questionnaire were analyzed via tests such as U-Man-Whitney, Wilcoxon post hoc test, ANOVA with repeated measures.

Results: The results showed that the educational intervention based on the health belief model has an effect on perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, perceived barriers, self-efficacy, action guidelines and nutritional behaviors that prevent stomach neoplasms; while it does not affect the perceived sensitivity.

Conclusion: Intervention based on the health belief model is effective on nutritional behaviors to prevent stomach neoplasms.
